THE PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

As a portrait photographer, my goal is to create ART. I offer a full service, boutique photography experience. I strive to not only create a great, memorable experience, but also carefully craft beautiful, tangible, heirloom art pieces for your home that will be cherished for generations.

Below is a summary of the entire process.

PRECONSULTATION

After you book a session, the first step is to set up a pre-consultation. We can accomplish this in a variety of ways, but is usually done in my home studio in Middletown, DE, or on the phone. In this meeting, we will discuss your vision and goals for your portrait session. Details such as dates, location, wardrobe, products and pricing are also discussed. If you know where in your home you’d like to display your art, you can send me cell-phone images of those areas. Using those images, I digitally draft up potential sizes and gallery displays. This helps you  get an idea of what you might want the final products to look like in your space.

WARDROBE REVIEW

Although not required, many of my clients like to send me pictures of their wardrobe selection about a week to two weeks before the session.

Wardrobe is an essential part of how your images will turn out. I will give you suggestions and make sure you are happy with your selection to ensure that we will be able to capture the look we are aiming for during your session.

PHOTO SESSION

Session length will vary, depending on the type of session you choose, but a typical session will last anywhere from 30min-90min. Generally, I will ease into a session with some talking and playing, while the children get acclimated and comfortable with me. I will direct you and your family how to pose and what to do. I try to make sessions fun, and know I’ve completed my mission when even Dad says “Wow! That was actually a lot of fun!”!

REVEAL & ORDERING APPOINTMENT

Delaware Newborn Photographer, Photo Session Experience

The reveal and ordering appointment is not only my favorite part of the experience, but also my clients’. This is the part where we view your images and together create custom art for your home! Usually about two weeks after your portrait session, we will meet again in my home studio, or your home.  We will view your images and I will help you decide how to display them. Again, using images from your home, we will digitally create displays to aid in your decisions.

This appointment usually takes between one to two hours, therefore it is imperative that both you and your significant other are present and that childcare is arranged. I will provide a delicious dessert, and it will be a fun date!

Now that you are a little more familiar with my process, please take a moment to view some of my work!
