Spring Break Adventures 2017
As some of you know, my husband is a full time student at Villanova, pursuing a master’s in Nursing Anesthesia. It is a pretty intense program, and he does not have a lot of free time. Fortunately, he did have a week off for Spring Break. Unfortunately, our children’s break was the following week. Even though Delaware had a pretty mild winter, illness seemed to be rampant. In fact, in the past, my children very rarely missed school for being sick. This year, however, it seemed they were constantly sick and missing school.
We didn’t feel like we could let them miss a week of school for family fun, but we still wanted to do something, even if it was a small trip. So we let them skip Thursday (their break started Friday) and took them to an airbnb in Frostburg, MD.
The Airbnb Experience
This was our first experience with an airbnb, and we had a great time! We stayed at Wesley’s Playhouse and thoroughly enjoyed the many small touches that were included. I mean, there was fresh organic milk and bacon in the fridge! What can be better than that? Ha! We also enjoyed the eggs and egg dye kit so we could include a little Easter fun into our weekend.
We were sure to place a pin in Middletown, DE! Looks like we were the 2nd visitors from Delaware!
Our kids enjoyed the house and all the games, coloring, and fun things to do so much! We probably could’ve just sat there all weekend and they would’ve had a blast!
Thursday evening, we grabbed a pizza and went up to Dan’s Mountain. The sight was beautiful, despite the overcast sky. I was sure that one of my children would fall to their death as they scrambled all over the rocks, but thankfully we all made it out of there alive!
Friday’s fun does not include many images that are not still stuck on my phone. We wore the kids out biking the Allegheny Rail Trail the majority of the day. Went back to the house we stayed for a quiet evening walking downtown and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit.
Our youngest son is still wearing his elf christmas pjs everywhere we go! Whenever he sees them in his drawer, he insists on wearing them! During our little trip outside of Delaware, he wore them and was seriously cracking us up. Here are a few of him playing and taking a much needed nap with Daddy!
We had a lot of fun staying at this airbnb! I can’t wait until we are able to try out another! Does anyone have any recommendations for a good one in Delaware or the surrounding areas? I would love any suggestions!

This is such a great idea! I always forget about airbnb and it’s such a good option for family vacations and getaways! I’ll have to keep that in mind!
Making memories. That’s what it’s about. Beautiful
Some of my favorite memories are from family vacations when I was your kids’ age… I love your style of photographing your family!
