Lukas is almost 18months old, so I figured now is as good of time as any to write about his 1st birthday! Since his mommy is a Middletown, DE child photographer (ahem… me…) and he was too young to refuse, or say “no,” I took it upon myself to give him multiple 1st Birthday photography sessions! I know he probably thought I was crazy, making him dress up in a silly “Wild Things” suit and then deposit him out in the woods in the middle of nowhere, but I had fun with it, and that’s what really matters….right? RIGHT???!!! Really though, even though this cutie happens to be mine, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: 1st birthdays are one of my FAVORITE sessions to photograph!
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE
The day Lukas wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another
his mother called him “WILD THING!”
and Lukas said “I’LL EAT YOU UP!”
He roared his terrible roars…..
And gnashed his terrible teeth.
“BE STILL!” said Lukas.
And he tamed all the wild things with the magic trick of staring into their eyes without blinking once and they were frightened and called him the most wild thing of all.
And he was made king of all the wild things. “And now,” cried Lukas, “let the wild rumpus start!”
“Now stop!” Lukas said. And Lukas was lonely, and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all. Even the King of all the wild things sometimes needs his Daddy.
So he gave up being King of where the wild things are in Middletown, DE. But the wild things cried “Oh please don’t go, we’ll eat you up, we love you so!”
But Lukas waved good-bye and journeyed back over a year, and in and out of weeks, and through a day
and into the night of his very own home, where he found his 1st birthday cake waiting for him.
and it was delicious.
